Neighborhood Partners Program

National Fish and Wildlife Foundation

Five Star and Urban Waters Restoration Grant Program

Funding Amount: $20,000 to $50,000 grants with an average award size of $30,000

Eligible Applicant and Activities
Eligible applicants include: Any non-federal or state public or private entity. Preference is shown to organizations directly connected to the local community who can monitor and sustain these projects for 5 years or more.

Eligible activities include: On-the-ground wetland, riparian, in-stream and/or coastal habitat restoration; Meaningful education and training activities, either through community outreach, participation and/or integration with K-12 environmental curriculum; Measurable ecological, educational and community benefits; and Partnerships: Five Star projects should engage a diverse group of community partners to achieve ecological and educational outcomes.

National Rural Water Loan Fund

Rural Water Loan Fund

Project Type: Planning
Funding Type: Private

Funding Amount: Loan amounts may not exceed $100,000 or 75% of the total project cost, whichever is less. Reasonable, below market interest rate (currently 3%) and a maximum repayment period of 10 years

Eligible Applicant and Activities
Eligible applicants include: Small water and wastewater utilities. Systems must be public entities (municipalities, counties, special purpose districts, Native American Tribes, nonprofit corporations and cooperatives) serving up to 10,000 persons, or in rural areas with no population limits.

Eligible activities include: Pre-development (planning) costs for infrastructure projects; replacement equipment, system upgrades, maintenance and small capital projects; energy efficiency projects to lower costs and improve system sustainability; and disaster recovery or other emergency loans are available.

Delaware River Watershed Protection Fund

Eligible applicants include: Not-for-profit conservation, land planning or educational organizations with a demonstrated track record of completing planning, applied research and/or outreach projects are eligible to apply. While public agencies are not eligible to apply for funding, OSI welcomes proposals that include partnerships with public sector entities.

Eligible activities include: All projects must:
• Be aimed at advancing permanent land protection for water resources,
• Demonstrate breadth either through geographic extent or because the project could serve as a model for work elsewhere, and,
• Complete the deliverables (report, analysis, etc.) within a year. The project should be designed so project impacts can be measured within three years
