Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program Implemented by MPO

Funding Type: Federal funds pass through to State

Funding Amount: FAST ACT FY2014 (Fixing America's Surface Transportation) Federal Program is scheduled from 2016 until 2020 with FY 2017 funding $2.360 billion. New Jersey's allocation for FY2017 is $106 million. Funds require minimum non-federal match.

Eligible Applicant and Activities
Eligible applicants include: State and local governments.

Eligible activities include: Eligible Transit Clean Air Measures (TCAMs) include Proposals can include but are not limited to: - Diesel emissions reduction - Engine idle reduction - Traffic signal optimization - Intelligent transportation systems - Intermodal freight - Bicycle and pedestrian projects - Travel demand management - Public education - Alternative fuels and vehicles

Funding Cycle and Application Deadlines
Latest round of applications were due May 2017. Solicitations occur every two to three years, pending funding availability.
